About CHOICES

Mission: Improving the overall quality of life among youth, families and community through culturally competent health education prevention programs.

CHOICES is a non-profit community based organization that provides services to women, high-risk youth, pregnant teens, parenting teens and adults and their families. The CHOICES organization was founded in 1987 with a single program for teenage mothers. Since our inception we have grown and now we have a myriad of comprehensive services for young women and their families.

We provide culturally relevant services to ethnic minorities and their families. Historically, CHOICES has provided educational workshops on a variety of adolescent developmental issues, client‑management, parenting workshops, home visits to educate parents on childcare issues, and has assisted youth in school placement. We also work actively with community colleges and state universities in order to motivate and encourage higher education in our participants.
